Meet Hector.

He’s 48 years old. A father of three.
And for the past 12 months, he’s been experiencing homelessness, even while working every single day trying to rebuild his life.

No excuses. No bitterness.
Just effort.

When I met Hector, I approached him as a stranger in need. I told him I was struggling.

Without hesitation, he stepped in.

He didn’t know me. He didn’t have much.

But he gave anyway.

His last few dollars, a bottle of water, clean clothes off his own back. He even cleaned my hands and
offered to help me get showered and back on my feet.

And most of all, he listened and he treated me like I mattered.

In that moment, Hector reminded me of something powerful:

Kindness isn’t about what you have.
It’s about who you are.

So we turned to you.

We shared his story with the world and asked the internet to show up for a man who showed up for a stranger.

And you did more than we could have imagined.

Nearly $200,000 raised.

Because of this community we were able to help change his life.

This is what happens when compassion spreads faster than negativity.
This is the power of the internet when it chooses love.
